Before you get started, 'break through' the first layer of your Color Balm with your fingertips, by rubbing it on the back of your hand for a few strokes. Once you get through the topmost layer, Color Balm is easy to apply, with a color payoff.
1. Apply directly to the skin and blend.
This will result in an instant bold color that can be blended for your desired finish look. Perfect method for cheek and lips application.
2. Warm up and apply with clean fingers.
Use the tip of your finger to warm up Color Balm and apply to skin by swiping a few times back and forth. This method is ideal for eyelid application, just be sure to tap very gently.
3. Apply with a clean makeup brush.
This method is preferred when looking to achieve a light, buildable color for an easy customized look.

I was hesitant at first, but once I figured it out, I really love it. It helps set my products and other makeup and it’s not overpowering. I use it everyday.
I bought this in three colors. For context I am very fair, usually the lightest shade in concealer/foundation and some brands don't carry a shade for me at all. I have Berry, Blush and Violet Haze. Berry is extremely intense so be warned if you are fair, but if you are deeper you will probably love it. It pulls very pink/red, I have to put a lot of foundation powder over it otherwise it gives a clownish look which is not what I'm going for. Blush is the perfect natural looking shade on me, more of a neutral pink. Violet Haze pulls more pink/purple on me and has a more vibrant look without being overly intense like Berry. The formula is very easy to blend out with either a sponge or a dense brush. I love that this includes sunscreen and Colorescience sunscreen products work very well for me in general. A must have if you love makeup and protecting your skin at the same time.
