This scrub is best for combination to oily skin with non-inflamed acne, such as clogged pores and blackheads. It’s also a good option for body breakouts. For dry or sensitive skin, or for inflamed acne, use the Acne Face and Body Wash instead.
It’s formulated to be as gentle and hydrating as possible for a benzoyl peroxide product, with ingredients like glycerin to help counteract dryness. That said, overuse can still be drying or irritating. Start with every other day, always follow with a non-comedogenic moisturizer, and adjust as your skin tolerates it.
This scrub is best for non-inflamed acne, like clogged pores and blackheads. If you have inflamed breakouts, it’s better to use the Acne Face & Body Wash instead, since scrubs can irritate pustules.
Use caution. Because this is a physical exfoliant, it’s best not to combine it with strong chemical exfoliants (like glycolic acid or retinoids) in the same routine. Alternate use, or check with your Face Reality Acne Expert for a personalized plan.
Most clients benefit from using it 2–3 times per week, depending on skin sensitivity and where it’s being applied. For body use, it can often be used more frequently. If you experience any dryness or sensitivity, scale back and moisturize well afterward.
